The main Superhuman Mail alternatives are Shortwave (an AI email client for Gmail with a free plan), Spark Mail (a free cross-platform email app with paid AI tools), Gemini in Gmail and Copilot in Outlook (AI already included in Google Workspace and Microsoft 365 plans), Fyxer (AI drafts inside your existing Gmail or Outlook), and Synced (an AI inbox assistant that also covers Slack, Teams chats, and WhatsApp Business, in private beta).
How this list is ordered
Superhuman Mail is a full email client, so the list starts with other full email clients, then the AI built into Gmail and Outlook, then assistants that work alongside the email app you already have. For reference, Superhuman's own pricing page listed Starter at $25 and Business at $33 per member per month billed annually on September 13, 2026, with no free Mail plan.

Shortwave: the closest Superhuman-style client for Gmail
Shortwave replaces the Gmail interface with splits, bundles, todos, read statuses, and an AI assistant that can search and write across your mailbox. It has a free plan, and paid plans on its Business tab start at $30 per seat per month. The catch: Shortwave works with Gmail and Google Workspace only, and its docs say Microsoft 365 and Exchange aren't supported. Details in Synced vs Shortwave.
Spark Mail: a free email app on every device
Spark covers Gmail, Outlook, Exchange, iCloud, Yahoo, and IMAP on Mac, Windows, iPhone, iPad, and Android. The Free plan includes Smart Inbox and unlimited accounts; Plus ($10 a month or $99 a year) adds +AI writing tools and the AI Assistant. Pick it if Superhuman's price or provider list is the problem. Its Auto-Drafts feature is listed as coming soon. See Synced vs Spark.
Gemini in Gmail: if you already pay for Google Workspace
Every Workspace business plan on Google's pricing page includes the Gemini assistant in Gmail, with Help me write, summaries, and side-panel search. Personal Gmail users get it with a Google AI plan, from $9.99 a month. You give up Superhuman's speed features and keyboard workflow, but pay nothing extra if you're already on Workspace. See Synced vs Gemini in Gmail.
Copilot in Outlook: if your company runs on Microsoft 365
Microsoft 365 Copilot adds Draft with Copilot and summaries to Outlook on Windows, Mac, iOS, and Android, and the same license covers Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Teams. Copilot Business was listed at $21 per user per month paid yearly, and it requires a qualifying Microsoft 365 plan. Gmail accounts only get Copilot through account linking in new Outlook. See Synced vs Copilot in Outlook.
Fyxer: AI drafts without changing email apps
Fyxer works inside Gmail or Outlook: it sorts mail into categories like To Respond and FYI, drafts replies in your voice, and joins video meetings to take notes. It never sends email on your behalf. Plans start at $22.50 per user per month billed annually after a 7-day trial. If Superhuman's Auto Drafts were the draw, Fyxer is the closest match that keeps your current client. See Synced vs Fyxer.
Synced: when email is only part of the inbox
Synced is an AI inbox assistant, not an email client. It connects Gmail and Outlook plus Slack, Microsoft Teams chats, WhatsApp Business, Instagram Business DMs, Messenger, SMS, and GroupMe, writes an Action Plan for each new message, and holds every draft for your approval in Decide. The Free plan covers 20 Action Plans a week with Gmail; Pro is listed at $29.99 per user per month. It's in private beta and runs on desktop browsers and iPhone. Staying with Superhuman is sometimes the right call
If your team uses shared conversations, team comments, and the HubSpot, Salesforce, or Pipedrive sidebar every day, none of the options above replaces all of that in one product. Superhuman Mail also runs on Mac, Windows, web, iOS, and Android with both Gmail and Outlook. Spark is the only other app on this list with native apps on that many platforms for both providers, and it has no web app listed.
